Asymmetrical Color Blocking

  • Vintage dress
  • Wedge sandals from Charlotte Russe
  • Vintage necklace
  • MAC eyeshadow in Burnt Orange
Color blocking is a popular trend this summer, and what better way to pull off the trend in hot temperatures than to wear it in a hassle-free casual dress? I found this dress while shopping this weekend, and thought the silk was incredibly soft and breathable. Dresses like this don’t bind and can also be worn with torn jeans or solid leggings with oxford flats for fall. This kind of a versatile piece is worth the investment. I decided to pair this dress for summer with a pair of fun printed wedge sandals and a long necklace. A dress this bright doesn’t need a lot of jewelry. In addition, I chose a longer neutral necklace so as not to challenge the deep neckline and asymmetrical lines of the dress. Short, colored necklaces often add too much clutter and confusion; and can look tacky like a bad 80s ensemble.

Have a red flag weightOnce you’ve lost the weight, you need to keep it off. This is where the red flag comes in. You need to pick a weight and vow to never get heavier than it again. It is normal for your body to fluctuate five to ten pounds. The author recommends picking a weight that is ten pounds heavier than what you “normally” weigh and never weigh more than it again.

High-waisted Cutoffs & Polka Dot Cropped Tank

  • Thrifted shorts
  • Thrifted tank
  • Sandals from DSW
So my mom and I had a girls’ day today and went shopping, out to lunch, got pedicures, and then went to Discover Presque Isle with my aunt. We had a blast, it was so nice out today and there were a ton of great sales. We took pictures at Discover Presque Isle and went around to the different shops and had some snacks. There were definitely some interesting characters there including this woman who had a parrot she kept bringing around everywhere and petting. Definitely interesting… I made out pretty well today while shopping and got some pretty great deals- can’t wait to share them with you! Don’t you just love it when the stars align and almost everything you find fits you just right? It’s very rare for me, and when it happens I get really excited. Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend!

Boho Beach

  • Vintage pants
  • Wedge sandals from DSW
  • Sheer tunic from Clothes Mentor
  • Belt from American Eagle
  • Vintage necklace
Nothing says summer like crisp and classic white pants. This sheer bohemian bell-sleeved tunic added just enough summery green to brighten up an outfit accentuated by neutrals. A modest plunging neckline keeps things interesting while keeping you cool in sweltering temps. I originally bought this tunic as a beach cover-up- however, it works well for going out too, just throw it over your bathing suit and add some cutoff shorts, a skirt, or some white pants. Wooden, turquoise, and rustic gold accessories add a laid-back bohemian vibe to this classic combo.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Relaxing by the beach can do wonders for your soul, but can wreak havoc on your skin. Remember to slough off dead skin with a loufah and using an exfoliating body wash a few times per week.
