Southwestern-Printed Fringe Top & Cut Offs

I bought this top in Las Vegas while I was out the first day shopping. I was so excited to find a neon southwestern-printed fringe top there, but I soon realized these are three trends that really (no shocker there) took off in the southwest. I have been looking all over the Erie area for a top like this, to no avail.
Unfortunately, this top’s days are numbered. The weather around here is starting to cool down, which means crop tops may have to be used as layering pieces or stowed away for next summer (hopefully!).
On the other hand, I’m not so excited to have to store this little number yet- so I’m trying to figure out new ways to wear it into the cooler months. I’m thinking layering it over a basic neutral dress or over a midi skirt. Another option I’ve been toying with has been layering it over a black cami and dark skinny jeans. Only time will tell.
I’m getting more used to pairing my shorts and dresses with fall’s slouchy boots. I like that I can maintain a comfortable body temp by striking a balance between summer and fall pieces.

Blogger of the Week: The Wind of Inspiration

This week’s “blogger of the week” is Victoria of The Wind of Inspiration! Just as nice as she is lovely, I had the chance to chat with this “new girl on the scene” who is already wowing everyone with her polished & chic yet eclectic style.

1. What is your favorite look you’ve posted so far on your blog and why?

My favorite outfit so far on my blog is the one from the “Finally A Sunny Day, Polka Dot Day” post (seen above). I love it because even though it was born in my mind just within five minutes, it appeared to be just an ideal outfit. Feminine, stylish, trendy and still pretty much comfortable. I felt so gorgeous! Plus all the compliments that I received that day and after the post were so encouraging and pleasant to hear.

2. How long have you been blogging/what made you start?

I’ve been blogging for only a month and a half. Since I’m not an office worker anymore and have no outfit restrictions, I started to become a little bit lazy about that. I didn’t like it at all, because it felt like lazy look led to the lazy mind. So, I decided that I needed some kind of motivation to get dressed up daily and be more  concentrated and in a better mood. Plus, I felt like I needed a new way to express myself and I think that new blog was definitely a good idea.

3. What is your favorite trend for fall?

That’s a difficult question. It’s that rare moment when I feel sympathy for almost all of the fall trends and it’s hard to choose just one. I believe it will be a natural selection and we’ll see what trend I love the most in my blog very soon. Stay tuned!

4. How would you describe your style and what inspires you?

I think I am a style chameleon. I wear so many things that don’t necessarily fall into a certain style category, or, on the opposite, somethign of a certain style changges completely when styled differently. First of all, my style depends on the occasion, then on my mood, the weather outside and the inspiration that can come to me from almost everywhere, and it’s not necessarily related to fashion. I just keep my eyes and heart open and pay attention to detail wherever I go and whatever I do.

So this is what we did during our last few days in Las Vegas. I apologize for the blurriness of the photos, I have no idea what happened with my camera while we were down there.
We spend the last two days in in Old Vegas at the original casinos such as Binion’s and 4 Queens. It was a blast, and I won some money! I only played slots, but hey they’re fun anyway! My brother ended up winning some money at Blackjack, which was nice.
I bought both of these dresses while I was in Las Vegas- I swear they have the best shopping. The first dress I wore (from H&M) was extremely comfortable and had cute lace detailing on the arms and bottom hem. I especially loved the broken glass feel of the front detailing. Although it was a little warm to wear a dress with such a long hemline, I knew it was the comfort I needed for all the walking we did.
The second dress, a maxi dress I found at Buffalo Exchange, was comfortable and gorgeous with the firework-like print. I liked the interesting neckline and how it cinched at the waist. I can’t wait to wear this dress for fall with a long bright cardigan and wedge booties!
Well- til next time Vegas. Had a great time.
