Lately I’ve been hittin’ it big at Marshalls when I’ve been on the prowl for clothes to wear to teach. Luckily, they’ve had some amazingly colorful options that are still modest.
This colorblocked skirt struck my fancy in particular because it’s unique and I immediately found several ways to wear it! I plan to wear it with a striped peach and cream top, this gingham, and a black tank as well. So many options!
How is everyone’s week going? TGIF, right? (well, almost!) I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of August, wow has this summer flown by! My first week of student teaching has been greater than anything I could have asked for. My first day with the students today was wonderful and I’m really looking forward to tomorrow it’s going to be great as well I’m sure. I feel really lucky to have gotten placed with such an amazing cooperating teacher.
So, what are your fun plans this weekend? I’m excited for my best friend’s engagement party and my boyfriend’s first gig playing in his new jazz band! Should be really exciting 🙂

I don’t know about you guys, but a breezy summer dress is one of my staples in hot weather. It’s always depressing when that certain day hits and you finally have to cuddle under your covers at night because that slight chill is back in the air. It’s just about time for fall and you know what that means- fashion week, back to school, and most of all- fun new fall clothing!
In an effort to extend the life of a summer dress, I’ve been looking for ways to pair them with other pieces to transition them to the autumn weather. Enter the classic button down shirt! Always a classic, the pale blue oxford will never go out of style and goes with everything. Add instant polish to a boho piece with this preppy topper and you’ve got classic style that will bring you into the new season!
On a different note- today was my first day of student teaching and I had an absolute blast! The kids’ first day isn’t until Thursday, so we’ve been planning and meeting with other teachers mostly. My cooperating teacher is amazing; so incredibly helpful and supportive it’s awesome! Hope everyone else’s day went just as well 🙂 What did you all do today?
Belt from Urban Outfitters, Express skirt, Guess heels, Top via Marshalls ($7!), Earrings (gift)
I thought this was a fun way to mix a little bit of the bohemian vibe with office style. Tomorrow starts my first day at my first student teaching placement and I can’t wait! We have in-service for two days, so it will be fun to ease into the swing of things.
I couldn’t believe I found this top for $7 the other day! It was perfect because of the gorgeous detail and fringe in the front. Great for tucking into a high-waisted skirt or leaving out with skinny pants and a leather jacket (it’s long like a tunic!). I can’t wait to figure out other fun ways to wear it!
Have a great week guys 🙂
