Spring means fun colors! I’ve been loving brightly colored pants for seasons upon seasons now and this season pastels and Easter egg colors are running rampant in stores. One of the finds that I’ve been on the hunt for is the perfect lightweight floral top. I finally found one a couple of weeks ago in Buffalo. Even though I had to journey a couple of hours north to get there, it was worth it! This silky floral top goes with everything and I know I will wear it well into summer.
Also on the trip, I picked up these vibrant green-hued flats that I’ve been wearing with everything lately! So what if I look like a spring garden, I’ll get over it.
So as I sit in my bed and write this I’m recovering from gastrointestinal poisoning. Not a good time. I took a blood test yesterday and it was all I could do not to puke/pass out. Ugh! Another thing that’s hard for me right now? “Resting”. I don’t think I know how to do that. It’s very difficult for me to allow myself the opportunity to just sit here and relax. A blessing and a curse, it hasn’t been helping my case of getting better.
Luckily, it’s 70 degrees out and sunny today so opening the windows for the first time in 5 months has been amazing! THAT part is definitely making me happy!
Enough about the stomach problems–I’m so loving this new necklace from the super talented Lily of Lily Dawson Designs! This particular piece is from her new spring collection and comes in different metals and tassel colors. The rhinestone touches make it a nice contrast to the masculine finish of the metal. With leather embellishments, this piece has it all and still retains a beautiful femininity. Check them out here!

Attaining a floral blazer has been a goal of mine ever since the first thought of spring occurred to me! I wanted to find the perfect blend of color and wear-ability. I didn’t want a blazer that was mainly a color that wouldn’t go with a lot, so I chose one that was primarily white. With other colors in tow, I knew that this was the one that I could don with practically anything!
This hi lo dress was a favorite of mine last summer that I plan on reviving once the weather breaks for good. It’s silky texture makes it so soft and comfortable and I love the two-toned colors! I wanted to keep things simple since the blazer is already so busy. Playing with some primary colors kept it interesting yet chic and simple!
Do you have a floral blazer? What do you wear it with? I’ve seen it worn with a plain tee, jean shorts, color blocking, and over a jumpsuit.

Purple and mustard is an unusual and unexpected color combination, even for me (who loves all weird color combos!). Purple, my most hated color, is one of those hues I’ve been trying to experiment with lately, because I figure I should probably give it a fair shot. I mean, why play favorites?
I went out of the proverbial limb last weekend and purchased these fine lil’ lavender numbers for only $16 at Forever 21. Better yet–they’re stretchy. SCORE. Maybe these pants are enabling me to eat more. Either way, I’m hooked.
In an effort to combine this new hue with something more familiar and comfortable, I added some touches of mustard (one of my most beloved colors in my wardrobe). With a simple formula, I was able to K.I.S.S. and be a bit matchy-matchy. Odd for me, but somehow I was pleased. This is the kind of thing I wear when I’m being lazy and say hmmm…these pants are comfortable let’s see what goes. Alright then, I have a scarf and shoes in the same color, check and check. DONE. Now let’s get caffeine and pretend to be awake for the next eight hours.
Are you all feelin’ purple and mustard/gold together? What’s your favorite color combo?
