Cozy in Soft Layers

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miss Me. All opinions are 100% mine.

Staying cozy is easy in oversized knits! Playing with texture and pattern are two of the most fun things to do when it comes to dressing in autumn.

This oversized Zara blanket scarf was a favorite of mine last year– I paired it with everything from stripes to cargo-military styles. This year, I’m trying my hand at mixing textures as well as prints. The festive plaid print makes it easy to pair with almost any gem-toned hue of the season.

This jumbo-knit black and gold Miss Me sweater has instantly become my go-to for chilly weekend mornings. Paired with their perfect-fitting denim in black (thought I’d try something new), you can’t go wrong.

In order to set off the darkness of an all-black outfit, I played upon the speckled gold tones throughout the sweater by donning my favorite ballet slippers- these golden metallic numbers I picked up while thrifting a couple of years ago.

One of my go-to makeup routines for fall include vamp-esque lipstick tones. While out this weekend, I decided to pick up a new wine-hued color that comes in the form of a crayon. It’s always a good idea to make something pop against a more pale complexion in the cooler months!

I wore this outfit this weekend while running errands for Halloween parties. While I love being comfy over the weekend, it’s equally as important to me to {try} to remain somewhat stylish while doing mundane errands.

I’m getting a lot of use out of these new black jeans. I always gravitate toward a true blue denim when I go shopping for jeans, but in the spirit of trying new things- – I thought I’d spring for a change.

With a pear shape like mine, it’s easy to see wide hips in lighter washes of denim. But with black, it’s easy to tame those unforgiving parts while accenting the top with bold textures and patterns.

Wrap Jacket + Graphic Tee Giveaway!

Outfit: Estelle wrap jacket c/o Kris & Kate| Leopard pumps| Black jeans via Miss Me| Graphic tee c/o Elle B|

Today is my puppy’s 5th birthday! I’m celebrating with a giveaway (and of course a big doggie frosted cake from WoofGang Bakery in Celebration :). Since my love for graphic tees has no end, I wanted to pass the joy on to one of you!

As the afternoons are cooling down a bit, light jackets are the perfect solution for layering, especially in fall. This quilted/leather jacket is adorable and I’m loving the leather tie, making it a wrap jacket; it flatters pretty much any body type. We took Henna down to Celebration for a walk and a doggie cake today, she loved it! I love going down there, it’s so gorgeous, especially when the sun is setting.

Anyways, let’s get down to the giveaway! Just enter in the widget below to win a size small “I’m so fancy” graphic tee exactly like the one I’m wearing here! Open to U.S. residents only, giveaway ends October 26th at midnight EST.

When asked to participate in this fall’s #MaxxLife promotion with TJ Maxx, I was thrilled because I couldn’t wait to sift through their new offerings for my favorite season! No, temps here have no really dropped unless you count this morning’s 64 degree commute at 6am. I have to say, I’m embarassed to admit that I was a little chilly at 64 degrees. Maybe my blood has thinned after all!

After sorting through TJ Maxx’s latest collection, I found these amazing (yes I wore them yesterday… go on and feel free to judge…) high-waisted pants. These pants look super-chic but feel like wide-legged yoga pants. What surprised me was how I didn’t need to hem them when wearing lower heels. I came across these beautes as well during my hunt–a gorgeous pair reminiscent of last year’s popular Zara heels in my favorite print–leopard.

When thinking about the pieces that perfectly fit my #maxxlife, I knew comfort, print, and easy-going style had to be a part of the gig. My go-to print has always been leopard and I love pieces that go from casual-chic to glam with a few accessories added on. Being a lover of graphic tees, I gravitated toward this really cute “Sunday Funday” cutoff and added a leopard bralette for some interest. When it’s hot out, layering creatively without adding bulk, is key.

It’s almost the weekend- time to celebrate! Weeks have been tough lately and I’m definitely “earning” my Sunday Funday if you will. This weekend, Nate and I are going to Halloween Horror Nights with some of his friends from work. Even though scary, it’s a new and fun thing to do and I can’t wait! Anyone been? Helpful tips/hints/places I should hit? Lemme know! 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!
