Happy end of January!
I can’t believe how fast this month has just flown by! My parents are here this week, and yesterday we took a day trip to Clear water Beach so that they could see some beautiful sights and enjoy a little relaxation on the gorgeous white sands before they have to head back to the freezing cold temperature and unsightly snow in Pennsylvania.
Although yesterday wasn’t as warm as we had wished, we were able to walk along the beach, eat at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill , and see the view of the city from the bar on top of Pierhouse 60. We saw some cute little shops and enjoyed seafood and ice cream as well. It was so relaxing and wonderful to spend time with my parents. I’ve missed them a lot since I’ve moved down south!
Anyways, sporting this colorful kimono from Whimsy Boutique with a pair of jeans and a flowy top was the perfect ensemble for walking around this gorgeous beach town. Kimono jackets may seem tough to style, but with a color-coordinated top or simply a casual tee and jeans– the kimono is able to take “center stage” in your outfit. I try not to let jewelry compete with the kimono, so I decided to don some cute statement earrings instead of a big necklace.

My parents are still here and today we visited the beautiful little town of Celebration, which is only about 5 miles from my house. We always like to make it a point to come here when we have visitors because it is incredibly picturesque and the quaint, yet modern little town always seem to be buzzing with new activity.
Today, we went to Starbucks and walked around the lake with our drinks. Mom (my original photographer) took these photos just like the old days–I miss her/them so much! She has such an incredible eye for breathtaking color and background opportunity. Definitely a twist from the ordinary Tuesday.
On a different note, I’ve been partnering with local shop, Whimsy Boutique [based out of Lakeland, Florida] to bring some hot new spring/summer looks to you that capture the essence of all that is southern, classic, and stylish. Upon visiting the boutique a few weeks ago, I found that the owner couldn’t be sweeter and her selection is top-notch. I felt like I was walking through a terrifically unique blend of Marley Lilly, Lily Pulitzer, and Simply Southern with an incredibly friendly staff. The place was decked to completion with pops of modern taste and felt refreshingly comfortable to shop inside.
Hope you all are having a great start to your week!

My parents are in town and we’ve been having so much fun this weekend! Today, mom, Molly and I went to Dandelion Communitea Cafe for a portabella mushroom wrap and some delicious tropical tea. If you live in the Orlando area and are looking for a cool spot to have lunch I’d recommend you try it!
After lunch, we scoped out a few cool thrifting spots including my personal favorite in College Park, Dechoes. We found some cute vintage tops and jewelry. Love that place!
I tell ya, there’s something about a packed weekend with family that makes you feel at ease for the week ahead. Nate had a gig last night at this bar called Fish on Fire (a seafood restaurant, too) and we had a blast eating and watching him jam out. I couldn’t be happier that my family is all here, and can’t wait to see all the fun we get into this upcoming week!
Today, because it was on the chilly side, I went with an easy layering outfit including this gorgeous geometric cardigan sweater from Black Five. I couldn’t believe it was less than $30–this thing has some serious warmth factor! To let the piece stand out, I paired a navy top with dark wash jeans to streamline the look. With a few boho extras, I was weekend-ready. Loving this super-cheap floppy fedora although sometimes I feel like I look like one of those people who spends a little too much time drinking coffee and endlessly typing at Starbucks while simultaneously bitching about someone trashing the environment. Whatever, it’s cheap so I figured I’d give it a whirl.
Hope your weekend was equally as fun! 🙂 [Try] to have a great Monday!
