Bright colors really do their part to get me in the mood for spring! My parents arrived yesterday and it’s been a long time coming. I’m so excited to have them here for two weeks and am really looking forward to relaxing this spring break.

It’s so crazy to think that I have 9 days off! 🙂 We plan to spend it lounging by the pool and relaxing with both our (Nate’s family, too!) families.

This neon yellow blazer of mine (Forever 21) was a purchase from about two years ago. It has proven its worth by how many times I’ve worn it. You never really think of neon yellow as a staple, and much less–a versatile piece at the office–but it really is for me. I love how I can play on the fun color with a bright floral silky top or dress up a graphic tee. I wore this baby to a speaking gig for women last week with polka dot trousers and aztec heels.

Because I continue to be obsessed with its versatility, I’m currently on the hunt for even more brightly-colored an tailored blazer/jackets. Oh, Poshmark. My addiction is always gnawing at me.

Sometimes the only thing that gets me up in the morning is the feeling of looking forward to my outfit creation for the day. Sounds weird, but on those dragging days, wearing bright colors really perks me up. Jewelry Habit is another recent find that I’m loving lately. This play on the “JCrew” look is perfectly executed as it pulls from various brights within the floral print here. Give them a little looksie–it’s worth it, I promise.

Have a relaxing weekend, all!

Life with Intel

Starting the new year off right means improving my life in several ways—not just sticking to one “resolution”. When figuring out ways to better the many facets of my life, my blogging was naturally on top of the list. With a stone-aged computer, the many tasks associated with blog article production (i.e. photo editing, writing, research, and collage assembly) were taking much longer than I anticipated. I decided to take matters into my own hands, by upgrading my technology to one that allowed me to be more effective in the many areas of my blog that needing tending to. Enter my new Intel-powered HP Envy 360 2 in 1.

With features like a touch screen and lightning-fast processor, I am able to write copy, edit photos, store raw images, and send emails simultaneously without having to slow down. Since I use my computer heavily for not only fashion blogging, but grading (oh, the teacher’s life), online shopping, emailing, compiling lesson plans, and OF COURSE Pinterest—it’s nice to see the long battery life working along with a high level of computing power to get everything done quickly and effectively. Because it’s a 2 in 1 I’m able to easily convert the HP Envy 360 from a laptop to a tablet, which is great for my on the go lifestyle.

Since I’m a little behind the 8 ball with technology, I’ve been relying on Nate to help me out a bit and to catch me up on all the features and capabilities. It’s a slow-going learning process for me, but so far my new “toy” has been keeping up with the pace of my insanely-busy life. So, here’s to another year of growth and improvement! Have you upgraded your computer lately? What do you think about the new technology out there?

Intel makes new and exciting technologies possible.

Rainbow Kimono & a $425 Giveaway

So this was my “casual Friday” outfit last week. Nate and I had a good time searching Champion’s Gate for new places to take photos. We came across this unbelievable mansion about 3 miles away from our house and basically stood in awe of it for twenty minutes. Meanwhile, Henna decided to get her paws ridiculously dirty in the creek in front while we weren’t looking. You can probably see her but make its debut if you look hard enough.

Anyway, I hope you all are having a good start to your week. Today is Nate’s birthday so I want to wish him a very “Happy Birthday” as no one deserves it more than him. He has been incredibly supportive, sweet, and caring–I feel lucky to be with such a wonderful man. He deserves all the best on this birthday 🙂 This weekend we went to a German restaurant called “Hollerbach’s” in Sanford with some friends and had a blast. Definitely will be making the trip out there again soon.

Tonight, we had sushi in Orlando and visited the Orlando Brewing Company and tried some of their organic beers–they were delicious!

Happy [almost] spring!
