I wanted to share my very favorite everyday makeup essentials on the blog today! Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Sephora and the wonderful gentleman who used to work at corporate that helps me find products that have changed the way I do makeup.
After a very long quest to find the perfect foundation, I have finally landed on Lorac’s Porefection. On days that I’m a little more tan, this foundation blends perfectly and hides pores better than any other liquid foundation I’ve found. To set the makeup and get rid of excess shine, I use a little Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy powder and set with Mally’s Face Defender. This is basically like a gel-type substance that goes on clear and mattifies while hiding wrinkles and blurring imperfections.
Tarte’s amazonian clay bronzer does wonders for contouring my cheekbones. NARS Orgasm has always been a favorite of mine for blush, so why not stick with a good thing you know works? Other recent discoveries that I can now live without include Kat Von D’s tattoo liner, Benefit’s Bo-oing concealer, and Too Faced “Better Than Sex” mascara. Honestly, every day I wear this mascara someone asks me if I either have fakes on or curl my lashes (the answer to both is always a resounding “no”). The concealer is smooth and doesn’t cake (huge plus) and the liner is fade-proof and really build-able.
Since I clearly collect every eyeshadow that Urban Decay has ever made, it’s easy to see how I’d fall in love with the Naked 3 palette. With my hazel eyes, the green flecks really come alive when I apply shades like “Liar”, “Trick”, and “Factory”. I always thought it might be tough for me to branch out of my brown/gold neutrals when it came to eyeshadow, but I was pleasantly surprised that the purples act as a neutral that plays perfectly with the green in my eyes. I would definitely recommend trying this palette and don’t be afraid of the pinks/purples as they build for a dimensional smoky eye that works for day as well as night.
