Beat the Heat With This One Simple Trick

Summertime and the livin’s easy…right? Not if you’re in this heat…good lord! It’s been averaging anywhere from 90-104 around here lately, so it’s no surprise that we tend to spend the majority of our free time basking in the…CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING.

The good news is that there is something you can do to help you not feel so ridiculously dry all the time.

This is a huge problem I’ve been having since I moved down here to Florida (almost) 3 years ago. It seems like I just can’t catch a break. It’s a vicious cycle really–go outside to enjoy the sunshine, sweat, take a dip in the pool, get out to lay out and tan for awhile (feel super dried out from the chlorine), sweat some more, go inside to take a shower, go outside again–and the cycle starts right back over again!

Recently, I feel in love with Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer because it’s the first product I’ve used for the body that actually keeps my skin moisturized all day without that nasty stickiness. It is especially formulated to work with water instantly absorb on wet skin to take advantage of skin’s peak moisture moment (the time when skin is most receptive to moisture).

The first time I put it on, it felt so silky and rubbed right in. The amazing part was how light it was even after how thick the texture.

The first time I used it before I towel dried and while I was still actually in the shower. Once I got out, I patted down with a towel to dry off and my skin was still outrageously soft and silky. That’s all well and good, but the true test was if it would work all day by keeping my skin from drying out. So, I ran errands, had lunch, and went out with friends…and lo and behold…stayed put and totally impressed me.

In addition to keeping my legs silky smooth for hours on end, it also saves me time in the morning (it absorbs 2x faster than regular lotion) when I’m getting ready for work at 5am. Definitely hangin’ onto this one, even Nate is inching in on it…haha! I’m planning to keep it around long past the summer–those winter months get just as dry around here!

It feels like such a luxury and the first time I used it was after a mini spa sesh while enjoying a good book by my favorite author! I’m trying to enjoy some of the last precious days of summer break with “me” time and that includes indulging in a bubble bath, some tunes, (maybe a little vino), candles, and enoying all the girly skincare products I can get my hands on! I hope your summer is going just as well and that you’re getting a little time to yourself 🙂

I have not tried but I am thinking about it. I am always looking for something because I suffer from dry skin all year around and I have change up every now and then.

I’m super picky about lotion. I usually try one for a few days then I’m over it. This honestly is the only one that has stuck around for me longer than a week!
