Drink Recipe: Groundhog Nog

Drink Recipe: Groundhog Nog

Hey everyone! Nate here with a festive drink for everyone to try out on this Groundhog’s Day. This morning a wonderful family friend (she was basically my 2nd mother when I was a kid) wished me a Happy Groundhog’s Day and said she would love to see a drink recipe called the Groundhog Nog…well Mary, here it is. Plus I hear that everyone up north is in store for 6 more weeks of winter so you probably all need a drink now more than ever. Let’s get started!

~ Ingredients ~

1.5 oz of Spiced Rum

2 Dashes of Orange Bitters

1 Large Egg White

1 oz of Half & Half

1.5 oz Apple Cider

1.5 oz Fresh Orange Juice

2 oz of Club Soda

Start off by adding all the ingredients except for the club soda to your cocktail shaker (okay so there’s no eggnog in this…but it has dairy and egg in it so I’m trying, okay?). Dry shake (no ice) for 25 seconds and then add some ice and shake for another 30 seconds. Strain into your glass and then add the club soda to the shaker and pour that into the glass to get all the foam out. Garnish with a slice of orange and you’re done! You don’t have to be in Punxsutawney to enjoy one of these so mix up a few Groundhog Nogs and enjoy!
