Drink Recipe: Sunburned Scotty

Hey Everyone! Welcome back for another great drink recipe! So this week I impulsively bought coconuts from the grocery store swearing I would use them. I ┬ádecided to incorporate the fresh coconut water into this week’s drink! This one has it all: sweet, sour, spicy, and boozy! Let’s make a Sunburned Scotty!

~ Ingredients ~

1 Oz Blended Scotch

1 Oz Fresh Coconut Water

1 Oz Pineapple Juice

1 Oz Lime Juice

1/2 Oz Honey

1-2 Drops Chili Pepper Hot Sauce

Let’s mix it up! Start by dissolving the honey and the hot sauce in the other liquids before adding ice. This will help it go into solution faster. Then just stir the mixture with ice until it’s nice and cold, pour it over ice in a rocks glass, and garnish with a lime wheel and a couple slices of chili pepper. I am only going to say this once: Be. Careful. Handling. Hot. Peppers…seriously. The aroma and flavor of the peppers work so well with this drink, BUT that spice will stay on your fingers for a while if you handle these puppies barehanded. I totally forgot hours later and rubbed my eye…it felt like the devil himself smacked me right in the face.

All the hazards aside, this drink tastes awesome! It’s the perfect drink for those of you who want to elevate your summer cocktail game and blow away your guests. Just take it easy on the hot sauce or your mouth might end up as sunburned as you got this summer. Cheers!
