Fun Summer Romper

Fun summer romper

So this romper was a purchase I made on our honeymoon and you wouldn’t believe what I got it for!

We were walking through Caesar’s Palace one night, just checking things out (I think we were on our way to see the aquarium) when my shorts started buggin’ me. For some reason, I’m not a huge fan of jean shorts because they always ride up or something. Anyway, I couldn’t stand them anymore with all the walking that we were doing around Vegas, so I absolutely had to stop at the nearest store to find a non-wedgie alternatie.

We backtracked a bit until we came across H&M (one of the largest I’d ever seen) and so we browsed and browsed and all of a sudden on the second floor, I found a stockpile of the cutest strapless rompers for a mere $10. Yes, $10. I tried them all on and although I was temped to purchase each and every one of those beauties, Nate reminded me that I pretty much have a romper farm at home. Boo.

So I decided on this guy–the stripes are always a classic and I knew I could dress this up several different ways with a number of different accessories. In Vegas, I mainly kept to long boho necklaces and flat pom pom sandals (for all the walking we had to do). But, in Miami–anything was fair game.

(p.s. I was petrified I was going to fall and break my ankle here but it was funny so I preservered)

I had recently found a wrap (is that what this is called?) belt some model was wearing in August’s copy of StyleWatch magazine and fell in love with it. I really like how it looked with a wide legged jumpsuit so I was immediately on the prowl to find me one (that wasn’t $200). I looked online, but to no avail. Eventually, I stumbled upon one at a local Rue 21 (don’t ask me why I went in, it was just there so I thought what the heck) and went inside to browse the jewelry section (sometimes there’s buried treasure for cheap).

I found this belt for $6.99, tried it on and thought–perfect! I love the little laser cut details, it reminds me of preppy summertime pieces. I snatched it and have since been trying it on with everything I can find in my closet.

I paired this outfit with the belt, a pair of white tassel earrings to match, and offset the look with a mixed print (my wedge sandals) and a pop of color with the crossbody bag that I’ve been having a love affair with for a few months now. Presto-outfito.
