Outfit: Dress c/o Gap Factory | Necklace via Forever 21 | BCBG vest | Franco Sarto wedges

Anyone who has ever been a teacher knows that at the drop of a hat you could be chasing a kid around or tripping over a computer cord– so versatility in your clothing and footwear quickly becomes an absolute necessity!

Being a huge fan of dresses, this “leafy-printed” one caught my eye and I immediately saw that it had tons of versatile styling potential. With a color palette like simple black and white, the dress works with tons of layering pieces from vests, to blazers, cardigan, and tights–making it the perfect transitional dress from summer to fall. And at $36, a definite bargain.

As a jewelry enthusiast myself, I know how important it is to be able to accessorize –and even better if you can accessorize a piece differently everytime– and this dress allows me to do just that. With a newfound penchant for mixed textures in jewelry, this pearl/rhinestone necklace combo works perfectly to “dress up” the dress a little to make it all the more work appropriate.

Cured pockets and an elasticized waist make this dress the ideal for any teacher. With all the standing, running around like a crazy person, and crouching to help students we NEED dresses like this one to look trendy while remaining comfy.

It’s no easy task, but teaching can be such a rewarding experience the moment you watch a student’s face light up when he finally understands theme. Few feelings beat how it feels to connect with students and get through in a real and honest way that they can relate to. I’m so happy that I get to be a person who can have a positive influence in their lives when, unfortunately, we know that so many of them do not have positive influences at home.

From dresses to blazers and skirts to trousers, Gap Factory has got you, as a teacher, COVERED. So many pieces are easily layerable and on trend with so many fun & edgy prints. I like to always add an interest piece to my neutral pieces, so when it came to this dress, I immediately saw a potential for a long vest.

Adding edge to a classy and simplistic print, the vest is a nice completer piece when the need to layer for fall happens to arise. I could also definitely see this dress being paired with a cute and colorful waist belt and statement-making heels. And adding a simple denim jacket and tassel necklace would make for the perfect weekend outfit–the possibilities are endless.
