Even in Florida, we like to “pretend” it’s becoming fall–although the temperatures still won’t quit! At an average of 90-100 degrees in the afternoon, it’s tough to get into the feel of autumn in all of its glory. Lately, I can’t stop thinking about that perfect time of evening when you have to wear a scarf because it’s a little chilly, Halloween parties, haunted hayrides, corn mazes, riding boots, and all the beautiful layering of new fall pieces!
Well, until the temps start to cool down–I’m going to have to keep dreaming. In the mean time, my idea of transitioning from summer to fall will include minor wardrobe adjustments such as the ones seen here. I like the idea of switching sandals out for cute embellished booties like these boho beauties.
In addition to warmer footwear, longer sleeves and warmer fabric in dresses is important. Subtle fall accessories like floral headbands in cooler tones and scarves help to transition dresses from summer to the cooler months.
Miss Me has a great selection of dresses that will transition perfectly from summer to fall. I’m loving their tunic styles right now because as the temps continue to get cooler, all you have to do is add leggings or tight jeans to pair with boots and you’re all set!
Although people may think that the “bohemian” style is exclusive to summer, I like to wear mine in fall as well, with a slight adjustment to the fall palette. Jewel tones like navy, amber, and hunter green seem to take center stage as the leaves start to fall. With pops of brighter color, these jewel tones seem to come alive. This is, by far, my favorite season!
My second look is a little bit more casual, with the perfect-fitting jeans. A kimono is another one of those perfect topper pieces that work well to replace a cardigan or a blazer. Paired with a graphic tee, it takes a casual look from traditional to modern and bohemian.
