It’s official! It’s the holiday season and everything is in full swing. That means gift-giving, parties, holiday treats, decorating, carols, family, and so much more! This year, my parents are coming to stay with us for Christmas and I couldn’t be more excited!
Naturally, the day after Thanksgiving I got to thinking about what gifts I might give friends and loved ones, so being the obsessive compulsive list maker I am–I started planning (and got some decorating done!).
Nate and I were able to get the inside of our new house decorated (can’t wait to share) and did some light shopping. We grabbed up indoor decorations to go with our gold & gray theme then the fun stuff–clothes, shoes, and accessories! Not going to lie, I may have picked up a few things for myself–hey, what can I say? Holiday parties are coming and I
needed wanted new shoes!
These rich, suede burgundy pumps from DSW made the cut as did a few other lovelies just perfect for different types of parties! I left with a mix of gifts for others and a maybe just a couple for myself. This particular pair of lookers have been bridging the gap for me lately between the seasons. Traditionally a “fall” color, burgundy works well with other jewel tones and adds an earthy glam to neutrals.
I wore this outfit to dinner with Nate in downtown celebration this week and decided to pair the suede heels with camo pants (heck, I think of them as a neutral) and a metallic sweater in honor of the holiday season! I love that I can dress these suede babies up or down.
In a few weeks, I plan to sport them with a black cape blazer and leather pants to a friend’s Christmas party and definitely to work because despite what you may think–they are actually quite comfortable. I’ve always been a huge flag waver for the BCBGeneration brand because their shoes are made so well–from the insole to the exterior, the brand screams quality.
When I scoped these out, they were basically yelling at me to grab them up to display in my bookshelf/shoe shelf at home. Sometimes, a girl just needs a new pair of statement heels. DSW’s holiday line up is serious stunning and I can’t wait to share the others I snatched up for the holidays!
What are you planning on getting your family and friends for the holidays? I have a bit of my shopping done but I need new and original gift ideas! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
