Bundling up again in this mild reprieve we’ve gotten today! I’m happy to see that the sun came out today; even if only for a little while. Piles of snow calls for piles of layers, and I find the best way to dress up in this cold weather is to play with color.
Now, I told you all that I’m trying to branch outside of my box and try to wear colors that I normally don’t wear. Green may be the number one color that I’ve shied away from over this past year. In December, I made the conscious effort to purchase more pieces in this hue and have been pleasantly surprised. Since the acquiring of this green gingham shirt, I’ve been finding so many ways to work it into my daily wardrobe.
Green pairs with navy incredibly well- the calming tones balance each other out and make it appropriate to wear in the office and while running errands on the weekend. I wanted to jazz this “green pants outfit” up a bit by adding a metallic clutch. While perusing Pinterest last night, I came across this article explaining how San Francisco’s top stylists think as they get dressed every morning. I love how Trina Papini advised to go past your comfort level when you put together an outfit and add one piece that goes beyond your typical comfort level such as a bright lipstick, fun statement bag, gorgeous prism sunglasses or brooch.
Well, it’s off to bed for this gal, I’ve been fighting sickness for a few days now and I’m hoping I start to feel better before this supposed “50 degree weather influx” we’re going to be having in the next few days. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
