The stress of being so many different people at once seems to take its toll on me quite often lately. I find it very difficult, especially now, to wear so many “hats” during the week. From blogging, to teaching at the new job, to working out, to grading & lesson planning, and helping around the house–being several people at once has its positives and drawbacks. While I’m loving my new job, I sometimes find myself missing the extra time I had over the summer to pour into my blog, spend time with Henna, and work out.

The good news is, that simple changes have really worked as Nate and I have been attempting to get back on track health-wise lately. Today marks three whole weeks since we’ve gone out to eat and I’ve been feeling pretty good as a ┬áresult! Being allergic to lactose is difficult when you go out anyway, you never know what you’re going to get. I love cooking in because it helps me to look forward to the meal, know exactly what ingredients are going in, makes it easier to track on my health app, and often tastes so much better. We’ve been really getting into the crock pot meals lately. This week, we found a recipe to make chicken, stuffing, and green beans in the crock pot. Although it called for sour cream and cream of mushroom soup, we simply added chicken broth for moisture instead and it still tasted great. I made some mashed potatoes and didn’t miss the creaminess of “gravy” while enjoying a still-tasty meal. See the recipe here.

This was a casual and comfy outfit; the colors remind me so much of fall. I long to see the leaves change, but for now–leather and leopard print will have to suffice for my “fall fix”.

Maxi skirts generally aren’t a piece that I gravitate toward with my pear shape, but I find that with a high waisted version, and coupled with a cropped leather jacket, I can somewhat get away with it. Honestly, it feels like I’m wearing a blanket (which I’m totally down with).

Enjoy your weekend! čÖé
