Outfit: Dress Lilly Pulitzer for Target | Tory Burch Miller sandals | Denim jacket via Old Navy [similar here] | Similar pearl necklace
So, funny story…Nate and I were busy concocting the delicious beverage better know as “Sunshine State of Mind” and of course taking photos, when we realized that we should probably do an outfit pic (mainly because it was my first day sporting a find from the recent collab of the famous Lilly Pulitzer & Target). Anyways, we shoot some drink pics outside and soon realize that we have some errands to run. We figured we’d find a cute place while walking around Champion’s Gate to take some photos.
Wouldn’t you know it–naturally–we do our errands ( you know, boring stuff like going to the bank, UPS, etc.) and then look outside only to find basically a monsoon pouring by in the parking lot. Sheets of rain were coming down so hard we couldn’t even see the car. Well, I’ll be damned if we don’t take this pic on a day I actually “did” my hair, so we press on. So, here we are outside a ridiculous/trashy nail salon flirting in the rain while spinning and laughing our butts off while tourist onlookers give us the weirdest looks possible. So worth it for the laughs. Nate and I have the best times when we are trying to make the most out of shoots that just aren’t working. Well, here’s the “fruit” of our ridiculous labor yesterday–feel free to laugh at my unabashed attempts at catching rain drops.
Anyways, this is the first of a few of my “Lilly Pulitzer x Target” posts to show you what I was able (barely) to scoop up while I salvaged my will to live amongst out of control Lilly hoarders this part Sunday. Seriously, and I know you’ve probably heard this a million times on the news/via social media, but these people are truly sick. I watched one woman (clearly with no love of Lilly) shamelessly grab up the ENTIRE collection of Lilly totes for herself (presumably to resell) within the first 30 seconds of the store opening and RUN to the checkout. Thankfully, some woman grabbed a couple from her and tossed one to me. Loving the pineapple detail on it, by the way! Her whole collection is adorable.
This particular dress was a find in the children’s section–an XL which happened to fit (thank God). Surprisingly, this dress fit me better than the others, although I was seriously loving the shifts. I decided to pair this maxi with a simple denim jacket and pearls to add a nod to the “Lilly way”.
Hope you all are having a great start to your week! 🙂
