Happy Monday, y’all! This weekend Nate and I actually got a lot done but we did do a little something ourselves too–we went to St. Petersburg for the first time (well, first for me)! It was so nice to see the city and all the fun murals. We ate lunch at Engine no.9 which had amazing craft burgers—and I’m your quintessential burger girl–so you know I was in heaven!
Nate has gone to the city before to take landscape photos with his friends and they always turned out beautifully and reminded me of a little Wynwood. He actually made the plans for us to go, promising me some of the prettiest murals we’d ever seen and he was definitely right! I just loved the gorgeous art work and appreciated how much cleaner it was than Wynwood in general (although Miami will always have my heart).
This wall was the first one we visited–it was right next to the burger joint and wouldn’t you know it– as soon as we went in to grab lunch, it started to DOWNPOUR. Thankfully, it subsided within the hour and we were back out to explore the city.
I’m really happy it was only an hour and a half from us in Orlando–that’ll make it an easy sell to go visit again. While I love going to Wynwood and Miami, it does take us an awful long time –over 3 hours– to get there and even longer it seems to get back.
Anyways, I found this little gingham midi skirt the other day while I was perusing Zara’s recent sales. It was only $13! I love how it sits high on the waist, allowing me to wear it with crop tops. This is such a cute skirt and I can’t wait to wear it to work and style it with other bright colors and blazers (because they’re my jam).
For this outfit, I chose to pair it with a nice and cool crop top from –you’ll never guess–Abercrombie & Fitch. Yeah, I was just as surprised as you were but it was $11 so who cares? They have really good clearance sales sometimes so I try not to discount them.
To make it more boho and less stereotypical “gingham prep”, I added these cutout wedges and layers of beaded necklaces. While I’ve been cheating on my statement necklaces with earrings lately, a part of my heart belongs to long beaded necklaces this summer–they are just so versatile! Funny story about these ones–I actually layered two here and they’re both from Target. The thing that sucks is that when I saw them (displayed together on the mannequin in a set of 3, so naturally I was disappointed when I found out I’d have to buy them all to achieve the same look) I knew I had to have them immediately and so I disregarded the $16 price tag–which may not seem like much, but it’s Target and I’m not looking to spend a fortune.
I ended up buying just the one for that price and then coming back literally two weeks to the day later and finding the second out for $7–$7?!?! I mean I was a little perturbed that I didn’t just wait, but whatever, now I could have the look I wanted originally. They’re still at Target right now for that price, and I did see a few if you’re interested!
Here’s to a new week! I officially start back at my new job full time and I’m excited to finally dive in. Happy Monday everyone–let’s make it a positive one.
