I’m slowly trying to let go of the beauty that is summer! It’s easy being bright and cheery when you don fun colors like neon yellow and cobalt blue. This neon geometric dress fits the bill and easily transitions from work to play.

I wore this dress last weekend to City Walk when the four of us went out on Saturday night to explore and have some dinner. I decided to wear it to work and simply add my cobalt cardigan to pull some of the color together. With my statement necklace rounding out the color, I simply added my neutral Clark’s sandals (because they feel like heaven on my feet) to let the dress take center stage!

In the spirit of getting along with my newly shorter hair, I wanted to share with you my tricks for styling hair to be curly with a straightener and keeping its shine when the humidity wants to drag it down.

I started with my new peacock straightener (got it from Marshalls for under $25) and rounded my hair in (taking about 4 sections on each side of my head. I was sure not to keep the heat too high–only about 350 degress (high, yeah right!) and not leaving it on too long just so that kinks didn’t happen.

After I finished with the sections and sprayed my anti-humidity hairspray on each strand (ISO Daily Shape working hairspray- love this stuff!) I lightly sprayed on my new CHI Farouk Royal Treatment Rapid Shine spray to make sure the hairspray didn’t dull my strands. Be careful not to spray too much, one light spritz and your hair looks, smells, and feels UH-mazing. I usually score this stuff at a salon for $15 (and sometimes more) but I was psyched to find it locally at the Marshalls in Orlando for about ten. Not too bad!
