Happy National Watermelon Day! Okay, okay in all actuality it wasn’t until recently that I knew about the holiday, but it just sort of fell in my lap! Enter one of the prettiest creative areas in all of Miami! Couple the scenery with the cutest summer shorts I’ve ever had and you’ve got a winning combo of colorful gloriousness.
I’m no stranger to pops of fun color and print, so when these shorts magically appeared on the rack at Marshalls, I knew I had to have them!
But in order to let the shorts take center stage, I knew I had to pair them with something a bit more demure like a neutral. I went with this lacy white tank and neutral cutout wedge sandals from Jeffrey Campbell.
The perfect pop to add color to this outfit had to be a fun summer bag! This has been the one that has been attached to my hip since the end of spring. I’ve always had a thing for yellow and a crossbody is perfect for my crazy lifestyle.
So you know how I said this “watermelon day” business just fell into my lap? Well, here’s proof! This was one of those amazing little corners of Wynwood wehre the sidewalk, doors, and walls were all covered in a spectacular array of colorful and creative art. My favorite? The watermelon!
