Country Layering

Dressing for fall/winter in Florida is a different experience for me. Down here, the wind and weather can change faster than a 5 minute downpour in the middle of summer. Having layers like a casual denim jacket works well when the temperatures rise to the mid 80s or drop to the mid 40s (last week). Although the Florida sunshine is gorgeous, we Southerners have to be ready for anything!

One clothing item that I normally shy away from, the lacey skirt, has proven vital during this time of year. I’ve been wearing the neutral-colored piece with everything from turtlenecks to riding boots! Today, I wanted to layer with different textures like denim, metallic, and suede. Mixing these textures and earthy colors creates a casual and calm outfit that can transition well from summer to fall.

I’m loving how¬†Miss Me¬†incorporates the boho-aztec details into fall-hued pieces. The lace contrasts well with virtually anything in their line this fall.

Currently, I’m loving jewel-toned anything! Emerald is a color that I normally don’t gravitate toward, but boy does it work well with pink and other neutrals.
