Outfit: Old Navy Diva jeans| Wedges & scarf c/o SugarPair| Chambray shirt via JCPenney [similar here| Michael Kors watch| Thrifted clutch[Similar here]

I was so happy when the chambray trend started happening…it meant comfy basics that go with anything! Always thinking that denim on denim was reminiscent of a lumberjack; I was pleasantly surprised to find that when mixing shades it works well as a base to pops of color and print mixes.

This month, I’ve teamed up with the chic & affordable SugarPair to bring you a few casual and trendy looks that won’t break the bank while you’re shopping for others this season. When I saw this double-printed scarf I knew I had to have it. It’s obviously really tough to find layering pieces that balance well with Floridian weather, but with a lightweight fabric like this, it’s gotten a lot easier.

Wearing two prints at once is easy when they come paired together already; the only trick is to balance it all out with a good base that doesn’t compete. These colorfully bold wedges work well to add some height and interest to an otherwise basic base as well.

I could live in this outfit with how easy and comfortable it is! Would you wear denim on denim? How would you style it?

I’ve never thought about mixing polka dots and plaid, but it WORKS! I, too, was a little unsure about how to style a chambray shirt without it looking too much like a denim tuxedo, but I’m getting braver the more I see other people wear them. 🙂
