It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! At least it seems to be decorated that way everywhere I go! It has always been hard to come to grips with the holiday spirit before my birthday (next Thursday) and much less before Thanksgiving. This year, it’s even weirder because I feel like time stands still here.
There has been virtually no weather change (okay so it’s “Florida cold” today but that’s it!), the leaves and grass are still green, and there’s obviously no snow. Weird. But I’m alright with it. It’s just crazy that we’ve been here since August and it seems like nothing significant has changed. Well, at least I can start dressing in the holiday spirit!
Since losing my bid on the infamous JCrew plaid shirt on Ebay earlier this week, I’ve been a crazy woman trying to find an adequate stand-in. I think I may have succeeded when I stumbled upon this winner at my local JC Penney a couple days ago. I was astonished to find that this shirt was eons more affordable than its JCrew counterpart, and every bit as stylish. It’s on sale now for about $28, I believe. So maybe I wasn’t supposed to get it after all. Maybe the universe was telling me to wait until I uncovered this unbelievable deal. Either way, I’m pleased.
Okay, so I have to tell you–I wore this outfit to teach today and all day long it was “Miss, why are you a fisherman today?” “Miss, when we goin’ fishin’?” Well, I can take a joke but seriously guys–jeez! It just so happens that I’m IN LOVE with this cargo vest and I like to wear it often [see last post] Between leather, plaid, and this cargo vest, I’m loving the new trends of fall/winter! What are your favorites?
Almost forgot, I have to tell you about my new favorite lip pencil. I seriously died trying this stuff on last night before bed (yeah, Nate thinks I’m a weirdo wearing bright red lipstick in my pajamas) I was amazed at how true to color with one coat this is. I may be cheating on my Revlon Really Red lipstick with this baby. The future in holiday lipwear is looking promising. I’m usually a skeptic when it comes to lipwear (I’m prone to cold sores and get dry skin) but this one really delivered. (p.s.–get a discount on this exact one with code BBLIPS at checkout!) Here’s the exact pencil if you’re interested. With the discount, you’ll get it for about $4. How can you beat that?!
