I’m really into anything vintage/1950s/pin-up/glam right now (if that even makes sense?) and these gingham high-waisted pants were screaming at me from the rack at Target last week, so I wanted to channel my inner “Palm Springs”-esque girl and mix this classic print with pops of bright color and a cropped top!
These striped Austin earrings from Charming Charlie fit the bill for adding a trendy piece of jewelry while also subtly mixing prints (and we know I can’t get enough of that concept!). Pink seems like the perfect color for summer to me and so I usually stick to the pink family for my nails and lipstick shades.
This particular shade is from Lancome and although the formula is currently sold out, I’m loving this one here!
Because it’s summer and all, I decided to try a new drink and I’m actually really liking it! A break from my usual sparkling water, Spindrift has a bit of natural fruit juice in it for an added zing of flavor. I’ve been adding fresh fruit to mine and enjoying it on a pool floatie! My favorite flavor has to be grapefruit! It’s funny–a flavor I used to loathe as a child has become one of my go-tos as an adult! Have you tried this brand before? What do you think?
These wedges have definitely been getting a workout as of late! Originally when I got them I was worried that the ankle strap would hurt, but I’ve been leaving it a little looser than I would normally and it’s been surprisingly comfortable. To tell you the truth, I wore this exact outfit on the plane last week when I went home for my sister-in-law’s wedding–it was such a blast. I feel like I don’t get home as much as I’d like to and this was a nice few days away from the usual grind that I was able to spend some much-needed time getting silly with my best friend & hanging out with my family. I especially loved that I got to send Father’s Day with my dad!
This week, I’m back to work at the crack of dawn with the AVID team at my school and learning the “Critical Reading I” strand which I’m really enjoying so far. It’s one of those things that you’re not so sure about because you have to wake up at 5am again but when you’re there, you feel refreshed and inspired. I’m learning so much and can’t wait to turn it into a Professional Development as I start my new job in about a month!
I hope you all are having an inspiring (or at least are surviving) the start to your week and I wish you all the patience to go about your day without dwelling on the negative and try to see all the benefits there are to giving others and your situation the “benefit of the doubt”, because you never know; you could be building up to something even more wonderful in the process!
