What to Wear for the Fourth of July: Red, White, & Gingham

what to wear for the fourth of july

Here’s what to wear for the Fourth of July! Well, the Fourth is upon us and I can’t believe it’s already here! What better way to celebrate than to wear a picnic tablecloth? No, I’m just kidding, but in all honesty this top reminds me of one and in no way does that make me sad!

This sandals have been on repeat more times than I’d like to admit but whatever–I’m about to buy the 3 other pairs! They’re on sale now on Amazon so scoop them up before they’re gone! I love the fun beaded detailing and the color mix, too! You just have to have some comfy and fun flats if you’re going to be trekking around in the summer doing fun things!

Although it has sleeves, this top is surprisingly airy and has a triple-tie back that allows you to tie it tightly or loosely depending upon how you like the fit. I got a medium (which is what I normally would get) and I have to say, I kind of wish I got the small as it’s a little roomier than your usual medium size.

These sunnies were a fun new purchase of mine earlier this week from none other than Target! For $12–you can’t beat it! I’m loving the round sunglasses trend and I tend to gravitate to more of a tortoise-type color rather than a solid. These seem to go with everything in my wardrobe!

These shorts are like my “holy grail” find this summer so far. I’m not joking– it’s usually IMPOSSIBLE for me to find shorts that aren’t 1.) riding up my butt all the time 2.) ridiculously tight or 3.) EXTREMELY too short. These Lucky Brand ones feel like I’ve owned them for years, they’re so broken in and soft. The fit loosely and come distressed or not distressed in either a light or darker wash. I opted for the light distressed wash because I feel like they go with so much and are unbelievably comfortable.

Seriously, if you have a hard time finding shorts that don’t ride up your you-know-what and aren’t “teenager” short, check these out. I originally ordered one size up and had to send them back through Amazon because they were way too big. I exchanged them for my normal jean size and they still fit really loosely and comfortably–which is what I like.

I hope you all are having a blast this long weekend and getting to enjoy some time with family and friends! We’ve been really enjoying ours with some friends from Nashville these past few days. We spent the day swimming and going out to eat at the best steak joint in the area. Just what the doctor ordered!

Tomorrow, we’ll be spending the day celebrating my brother’s birthday (which is the Fourth!) with cake and tons of picnic food like hot dogs and my mom’s famous macaroni salad! It’ll be the perfect way to wrap up an amazing week.

What are you doing for the holiday? What are you planning to wear?
