Happy New Year! Reporting live from the couch, this NYE/New Year’s Day has been the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. To me, these concepts are one in the same!
Last night, we rang in the new year with my parents while playing Cards Against Humanity (which was and always is hysterical) then had some champagne at midnight. We heard a few huge bangs outside and left to see that the entire neighborhood had taken it upon themselves to light up some serious fireworks. It was quite the show and so we joined in with a few smaller ones of our own. It was such a blast to talk with neighbors and hang out in the nighttime heat outside while watching a light show typically reserved for the Fourth of July. I guess Floridians just do it up differently than us northerners. Dually noted for next year.
Today, we slept in, had a delicious pork and sauerkraut dinner then went to see Daddy’s Home at our local movie theater. Two thumbs up–Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg were just as funny as I expected them to be and the movie had a touching message overall. Afterward, we came home to make some appetizers and brownies–delicious!
I hope your new year went well and here’s to making 2016 one for the books. From getting married to the love of my life to continued hustle at our jobs and on the blog–I can’t wait to see what this year has up its sleeves for us. I wish you all continued success and happiness as we embark on yet another year 🙂
