You Put the Lime in the Polka Dot

Now doesn’t that sound nice? “You put the lime in the coconut” sounds like a nice cool beverage and I want to drink it all in! Today was particularly exhausting and it shows no signs of stopping with the amount of work I have yet to do.

The good news is that it’s HUMP DAY! Tomorrow’s Thursday which means we’re only a quick minute away from the weekend. Seems like it did actually come fast this week.

For this outfit (that I wore to work yesterday) I wanted to switch it up by layering some pieces that I don’t normally layer. Going with this season’s “chartreuse” theme, I wanted to add pops of this unexpected color against the posh background of a simple black. Something tells me it’s best to play it safe by anchoring such a wild hue with a grounding color like black.

I found these lime flats at TJ Maxx last week and was psyched that they were only 20 bucks. Score. I immediately pulled out this sheer top from Kohl’s Christmas clearance sale last year. Love finding a weird match like that! Two unexpected and unlikely, I might add, pieces that seem to be just waiting for each other to come together in perfect outfit harmony.

Welp, this old broad is off to bed (insert extra 2 hours of time here), well at least I wish I was! Have a great Thursday everyone!

P.S. Been trying to watch my favorite movie “The Great Gatsby” for the past few nights and have failed miserably. I just have to say that everytime I watch this/read Fitzgerald, I am absolutely amazed by his ability to string together perfectly profound prose to convey such strong feelings that really speak to the audience. I could ready him everyday.

You look amazing! I love this outfit, between the bright pop of color and the polka dots, it’s just perfect!

I love this look! The pop of color with your shirt followed down to your flats. So chic.

PS. That comment was meant for your lip dress post?! How did I manage to mess that up? 😛
