Outfit: Geo Lace Peplum Dress & Riley Fit coral shirt c/o Banana Republic | Similar ankle strap pumps | Michael Kors Hamilton handbag | Similar earrings | JCrew sunnies

I was beginning to think that Spring had jumped ship on us down here in Florida for awhile! We’re not used to the cold snaps lasting into March, but when I went home to PA for my bridal shower a couple of weeks ago, I got a rude awakening. Suddenly temps in the 50s and 60s didn’t seem so bad!

Well, it has finally consistently stayed in the 80s for the past week and with the season fully in tow, a few things are for sure–longer days (yes!) and spring DRESSES. Yes. I’ve been having an affair with spring dresses lately because they are so easy to wear to work and look fancy without a lot of effort needed.

This geo lace peplum dress has the recipe for success–lace + nipped waist + classic color + modest length= ultra feminine and chic. I’m not lying, I’ve had more compliments on this dress the 2 times I’ve worn it than literally any other spring or summer dress I’ve ever had. Just the other day Nate and I were out about town running errands and what not and I got 2 compliments on it in 20 minutes, so I told him “I’m getting the other colors!”.

For a fresh and preppy take on this classic silhouette, I decided to add a structured button down shirt to attain a more work-appropriate look. The students all said to me “Miss, you look different” (gotta love when they pick apart your look–be it good or bad! haha).

To play on the pink-coral color, I donned my pastel ankle strap pumps and sparkly crystal drop earrings. It doesn’t take much to style up this gorgeous dress!

Complete with a prep-school ready striped tote and tortoise sunnies, I was ready to go.

Are you guys loving spring dresses lately? I find myself fiending for more and I may just have to make a pit stop at Banana Republic this weekend in Orlando for the lilac version of this dress and maybe this gorgeous floral number too.

If you happen to pop by Banana Republic while out galavanting this weekend, share your finds with #itsbanana!

Happy Hump Day! Enjoy the rest of your week 🙂

This is my motto right now:

Work hard so you can shop harder.:

100% Bloomingdales Spring Fashion Event

On March 12th, these hella awesome ladies and I had the pleasure of hosting the Bloomingdales 100% Collection Spring Fashion Party in Orlando!

This was honestly one of the most fun events I’ve been to since I moved down here for a number of reasons. PR pro Jennifer Benston organized the event at the Bloomies store located next to the Millenia Mall as a way to connect local bloggers to Bloomingdales shoppers and spread the word on spring fashion trends and rewards programs going on throughout the store this season.

The event was a huge success including everything from a poppin’ DJ to free treats, an awesome fashion photo booth, hair curling station, and several mini blogger pop-up mannequin meet-and-greet stations where the six of us displayed our personal-style manifestation of the ultimate spring look.

It was no surprise that over half of us chose a topper of the rose quartz variety, seeing as how Pantone deemed it “the color of the year”. From blazers to badass leather jackets, the hue ran rampant throughout our blogger-created looks.

My look (below) featured a lace/crochet type floral crop top with a high-waisted suede skirt in taupe. I topped it off with a feminine but touch cropped leather jacket in –you guessed it–pale pink. Being a pear shape, I’m a huge fan of the crop top/high-waisted pants combo, as you can see by the outfit I wore for the event (I felt like a hip flamenco dancer, haha!). I wanted my look to marry my personal style with trendy pastel hues remininscent of the season’s delicate blooms.

Definitely stop by Bloomingdales this spring for some of the season’s hottest pieces in colors and styles that you KNOW are not only trending, but will be lasting staples in your closet! I had a blast, can’t wait to do it all again soon; these ladies were so much fun to work with! 🙂

Flowers at Home

Roses at home

Probably the most fun part about buying a new home is all the lovely home decor possibilities that come with it!

From new throw pillows to picture frames and new furniture, decorating our new house has been an ongoing, yet exciting venture that I suspect will never be fully complete!

Last week, I found some great pieces at Home Goods including this vase, these throw pillows, and this fur throw. I’ve had my eye on this blue China print vase for quote some time now because it’s a great way to add feminine print and color to any neutral room.

I placed my new red roses on the coffee table atop a stack of fashion books and alongside my favorite candle & coasters!

With Spring officially here, I wanted to celebrate by purchasing some fresh blooms for the house! In addition to these red rose beauties, I grabbed some yellow tulips to plant as well as begonias for the front yard. It’s so nice to see how such a simple touch and some easy design ideas can make all the difference in changing a house to a home.

I’m so thrilled to be decorating the new rooms of the house and can’t wait to share all we’ve been working on!
