Fall Layering with TJ Maxx

Not to play favorites, but “fall” is my favorite clothing color time of year. All of the deep gemtone hues seem to sync together better than the crisp air and early sunsets. Two of my newest loves are burnt oranges and olive green. I’ve been wanting this cardigan for years and never quite got around to grabbing it up. I finally found this beauty and have been obsessed with figuring out what to pair it with ever since!

This pleated burnt orange dress caught my eye when I was browsing the aisles of TJ Maxx last week. I thought, “what a perfect color for fall!” Better yet, I was surprised at how affordable it was for how nice and lined and well-fitted it is. Bonus. The only thing with this dress is that it definitely needs some type of waist belt to bring it all together. Enter the trusty leopard belt.

You know those days (well maybe it’s most days for me!) that you seem to want to build your outfit solely (haha, solely) around your favorite footwear? Today was one of those days. If you’ve been watching me blow up my instagram, you will have seem quite a few new pictures of my ankle boot babies. These leopard calf hair booties are standin’ tall and for the price I snagged ’em at I’m going to happily wear them until the day I die. It was one of those rare shining moments that you find a deal that you know you’ll never snag again.

The booties debuted today when I threw them on to counteract and play off of the sunset hues I donned in this outfit. Sometimes deep orange and green can seem a bit mundane when not mixed with the proper print. Hmm…obviously with my love for leopard being deep and undying–I decided to add a few touches of my own. Sometimes about these funky little boots adds an urban and week-end wearable twist to an outfit that seems work-ready. I would definitely wear this outfit to work, maybe even with these boots. Depends how crazy I’m feeling. Let’s get real–that’s pretty much everyday!

Well, it’s finally Friday and I’m excited I got to sleep in just a bit today because we have an in-service day. I’m happy to say that even though I slept in a bun I was able to pull off a straight look because of my awesome new peacock straightener. Every time I go to TJ Maxx I’m obsessed with the beauty section–what can I say? It’s a smorgasbord of awesome deals!

It’ll be nice to have some time to get everything done before the weekend. Hope you all have a lovely day and an even better weekend!

And remember 🙂
