Dry Skincare Routine for Your Best Skin in the Morning
I was so thrilled that the first post about my dry skincare routine helped so many of you, and I wanted to write follow-up with my morning dry skincare routine!
If you haven’t gotten a chance yet to check out my dry skincare routine for your best skin in the evening, what are you waiting for?! Kidding, but as a reminder, these products were recommended to me by my dermatologist, esthetician, and/or through A LOT of personal research as well as trial and error.

The Best Morning Dry Skincare Products
Making the switch to treat my skin with “dry to very dry” skin products has made a world of difference! I used to treat my sensitive dry skin with acne products, which dried out my skin, causing it to flake. More and more breakouts.
These days, it’s really noticeable when my diet is off or I’m not getting enough hydration. The good news is that acne breakouts tend to stay at a minimum as long as I keep my diet low in dairy and sugar and get the amount of water I need.
This morning routine is a bit quicker than my nighttime routine, which uses a few more products so that they can work overnight.
Time needed: 10 minutes.
Dry Skincare Routine: Morning
- Splash face with cold water
I rinse off any heavier lotion from the night before and give my skin a quick refresher with cold water to wake it up. - Wash face
I have found that my favorite morning face wash is Biore Pore Clarifying Cooling Cleanser. It has salicylic acid as well as witch hazel in it for easing adult acne.
I love using product with witch hazel, because not only does my skin feel super clean afterward, but it eases redness and irritation, too. - Swipe Pore-Clarifying Toner
I use either Clinique Clarifying Lotion for dry/extra dry skin or Biore Witch Hazel Toner.
I’m a huge advocate for witch hazel–this changed my skin’s texture completely. I swipe across my face with a bit on a cotton ball after I wash. - Spritz Rosewater Spray
For some reason this makes a difference in my skin. It calms down the redness, and my skin just looks more “glowy” and overall healthier. Sometimes I spray it before and after I apply face lotion.
I love Mario Badescu’s version. - Moisturize & Protect
Daytime moisturizer has been a tough road for me. My dermatologist recommended CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30 for my face.
It’s oil-free, light, and keeps my skin moisturized all day without a gross heavy feeling. The only drawback is the white sheen to it, so you really have to rub it in before you put on foundation.
