I’ve never been one to pay more than I have to, in fact I started this blog to share some of my thrift and discounted finds that could work together to emulate popular trends that often cost thousands of dollars.
It’s highway robbery how much some of these trendy styles nowadays are costing. While we definitely love the looks seen on celebs, stylists, bloggers, on Pinterest, and in magazines–affording them is usually out of the question.
Although it takes a bit of digging, I think it’s most definitely worth it to find similar pieces that we can work into our wardrobes and still have money left over to have a life!
Speaking from experience, I own these Razzi velvet mules and ADORE them! Recently, I added another pair to my collection–suede rust–that go with pretty much everything [see how I styled them here]. This is my favorite shoe trend lately because it’s like you’re wearing socially acceptable slippers and you get to sport so many different other trends like suede & velvet. This line has so many colors and options. Maybe I need to stop the addiction, but with how affordable they are & how comfy, I really can’t.
This top is one that I’ve had my eye on for awhile now and have yet to pull the trigger. Now, having found the cheaper version, I am so much more inclined to finally grab it up! I love the idea of pairing a statement top like this one with cropped fringe jeans and a casual suede tassel bag. Obviously, the Chloe one is on my dream wish list, but let’s get real–the Steven one is just as cute and you get the same effect with it.
I’ve been an avid collector of beaded tassel earrings ever since the early summer months, but I can attest to the fact that it’s rather difficult to find pairs that are under $100. The ever-so-coveted Oscar de la Renta versions often retail for around $400! They’re gorgeous but no thanks to paying a month’s rent for earrings!
