How to Make Pineapple Coleslaw

How to make pinapple coleslaw

Hey everyone! I know we’ve been pushing the drinks hard lately so how about a delicious food recipe for you guys to chew on…ha. Since all of you are probably trying to get the most out of the last days of summer, why not have some friends over for a cook out and make this fantastic (if we do say so ourselves) pineapple coleslaw!

4 cups of Coleslaw mix

1 packet of Top Ramen

2 tbs Toasted Sesame Seeds

2 tbs Butter

1 cup Pineapple Chunks

2 tbs Brown Sugar

2 tbs Pineapple Juice

1.5 tbs Pear Vinegar

1 tsp Sesame Oil

3 tbs Mayonnaise

½ tsp Smoked Paprika

¼ tbs Garlic Powder

Start off by crushing the Ramen into small pieces and throw away the flavor pack (seriously, you’re past your college days…it’s time to start seasoning your own food). Melt the butter in a small fry pan and toast the crushed Ramen until golden brown. Place the toasted Ramen into a large bowl with the coleslaw mix and sesame seeds. Now let’s get to that pineapple!

Combine the pineapple chunks and the brown sugar and cook it in a fry pan or on a flat grill to caramelize the sugars and then throw them in with the coleslaw. Now combine the remaining ingredients and whisk together to make the dressing. Pour the dressing over the coleslaw and toss to combine. Don’t forget some salt and pepper to taste!

That’s it! Trust me this one will be an instant hit with your guests. It’s a wonderful alternative to the depressing, overdressed coleslaw a lot of supermarkets sell. So get everyone together and enjoy!
